Nigeria Mining Week 2025 kicks off with pre-conference

Nigeria Mining Week 2025 officially began today, 13 October, with a pre-conference session at the Abuja Continental Hotel, setting the tone for a landmark 10th anniversary edition.

The pre-conference, themed “Positioning Nigeria’s Mining Industry for Investments”, featured round table engagements focused on building a globally competitive climate for exploration and repositioning Nigeria’s mining investment narrative. Stakeholders tackled priority issues, shaping practical, outcome-driven solutions.

The event, which runs through 15 October, has become a cornerstone for industry dialogue, investment promotion, and policy reform in Nigeria’s mining sector.

The opening sessions on Day 1 (October 14) will highlight both a decade of progress and the sector’s future direction. Attendees will hear welcomes and opening remarks from key organisers and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Solid Mineral Development, VUKA Group, PwC Nigeria, NEITI, and the Miners Association of Nigeria.

The programme will also feature keynote perspectives from senior executives, such as Chris Omo-Osagie of Thor Explorations, Engr. Shuaibu Bello of KMDC, and Edamisan Toyo of Kursi Group, offering both national and global insights.

The session will conclude with a presidential address by H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), underscoring the government’s support for mining as a catalyst for economic diversification.
