Located in Zambia’s Copperbelt Province, Kagem is believed to be the world’s largest producing emerald mine and is operated in partnership with the Zambian government through the Industrial Development Corporation.
Adrian Banks, Gemfields’ Managing Director of Product and Sales, said Imboo displays “an intense, verdant green touched with golden warmth and a clarity that captivates the eye,” even under the strong light required to illuminate a stone of its size.

In addition to its rarity, the buyer will be offered nanoparticle tagging through Gemfields’ partner Provenance Proof, ensuring the gemstone remains fully traceable even after cutting and polishing.
The company said this technology guarantees future owners can verify the stone’s origin and its place in the history of Kagem.
The unveiling of Imboo follows a series of remarkable discoveries from Kagem in recent years, underscoring the mine’s reputation as a source of some of the world’s most significant emeralds.
